Agreement and App Store license
These Terms of Use are an agreement between you and Ighor July, the developer of App Archiver. By accessing this website or using App Archiver, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the website or application.
A copy of App Archiver obtained from the Mac App Store is licensed under Apple'sStandard End User License Agreement. These terms provide additional conditions and product-specific notices. If they conflict with Apple's Standard EULA or a right that applicable law does not allow you to waive, the Standard EULA or applicable law controls.

What App Archiver does
App Archiver is a macOS utility that estimates storage savings, optimizes installed apps, creates in-place archives, creates ZIP or DMG backups, and restores supported apps. You choose the app, action, and storage location. The application works locally with the app folders and backup locations you allow it to use.
App Archiver does not edit, rewrite, or repack code or resource contents within target apps. All compression is lossless. Optimization uses transparent filesystem compression, so macOS returns the original bytes when the app is read. Archives and backups preserve the original app payload instead of rebuilding it. These operations preserve signed contents, code signatures, bundle integrity, and protections supplied by code signing.
Archiving in place changes how an app is stored and replaces the installed copy with a smaller restorable version. Restoring may replace an app already present at the selected location after you confirm the replacement.

Authorized and lawful use
You may use App Archiver for personal purposes or your own internal business purposes. You must have the right to use, copy, optimize, archive, back up, or restore every app you select. The license and other terms supplied by each app's developer continue to apply.
Do not use App Archiver to bypass licensing or access controls, make or distribute an unlawful copy, infringe intellectual property, interfere with another person's device or data, or violate applicable law. You are responsible for how you use the copies and backups you create.

Back up what matters first
App Archiver changes how app bundles are stored and creates local archives and backups at your direction. Keep an independent backup of important files before optimizing, archiving, restoring, replacing, or removing an app. Confirm that the result you need is usable before deleting another copy.
An App Archiver backup covers the selected app bundle. It may not include the app's documents, preferences, accounts, licenses, cloud data, plug-ins or helper tools stored outside the bundle, or other external components. Use an appropriate system or file backup for data that is not stored inside the app bundle.

Estimates, results, and compatibility
Storage estimates and actual savings vary by app, Mac, file system, compression support, and other conditions. Time Machine local snapshots and macOS storage calculations may delay a visible change in available space. App Archiver does not promise a particular saving or an immediate change in the storage number shown by macOS.
A restored app may still depend on a compatible macOS version, valid code signing, a license, an account, an online service, or an external component. An app that works today may not work on a later version of macOS. Updating an optimized app may replace optimized files and reduce or remove earlier savings.

Protected and system apps
Apps labeled Protected contain root-owned items and require administrator approval before App Archiver can optimize or archive them. Protected apps are supported after that authorization is granted. Depending on the App Archiver version and the permissions available from macOS, a protected app may not retain its protected ownership after it is optimized or archived. Review thecurrent protected-app guidance before processing one. This filesystem ownership status is separate from the app's signed contents, code signature, and bundle integrity, which App Archiver preserves.
macOS system apps are not supported and cannot be archived with App Archiver.

Purchases and refunds
Purchases made through the Mac App Store are processed by Apple and are also subject to the applicable Apple Media Services Terms. App Archiver does not receive or process your payment information.
Refund requests for a Mac App Store purchase must be submitted to Apple throughApple's refund process. Eligibility is determined by Apple's policies and applicable law. Nothing in these terms limits a refund or other remedy that applicable consumer law requires.

Privacy and external services
The App Archiver application works without an account and does not send your apps or backups to the developer. The Privacy Policy explains how the application, website analytics, and support communications handle information.
The website links to Apple and other external services. Those services operate under their own terms and privacy policies. App Archiver is not responsible for the availability, content, or practices of an external service that it does not control.

Updates, availability, and support
App Archiver, its features, supported formats, and system requirements may change as macOS and third-party apps change. Updates may add, remove, or modify functionality. Continued availability of every version or feature is not guaranteed, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
Product support is provided by Ighor July through the options on theSupport page, subject to availability and applicable law. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for App Archiver.

Ownership
App Archiver, this website, their original content, branding, and design are owned by Ighor July or used with permission. These terms do not transfer ownership of them to you. The apps you manage, Apple trademarks, and other third-party names and materials remain the property of their respective owners.
You may link to public pages on this website. You may not misrepresent an affiliation with App Archiver, copy substantial website content for republication, or use the App Archiver name or branding in a way that is likely to cause confusion.

Warranty and liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the website and App Archiver are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. No additional warranty is made that every feature will be uninterrupted or error-free, that every app will be compatible, that a particular amount of space will be saved, or that every archive or backup will remain restorable in every future environment.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Ighor July is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive loss arising from use of App Archiver or the website, including lost profits, business interruption, loss of data, loss of access to an app, or a failure of third-party software or services. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability, warranties, remedies, or consumer rights that applicable law does not permit to be excluded or limited.

Ending use and enforcing these terms
You may stop using the website or application at any time. Rights under Apple's Standard EULA may end if you fail to comply with it. Access to the website or support may be limited when needed to prevent unlawful use, abuse, security harm, or interference with the service.
If a provision of these terms cannot be enforced, it will be limited to the minimum extent needed and the remaining provisions will continue to apply. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of the right to enforce it later. Mandatory rights and courts available under the law of your place of residence are not restricted by these terms.

Changes and contact
These terms may be updated when App Archiver, this website, Apple's requirements, or applicable law changes. The effective date at the top identifies the current version. Material changes apply from the updated effective date and do not reduce rights that have already arisen under applicable law.
